Hardy Boys & Tom Swift Ultra Thrillers Two volumes published in 1992 and 1993. These books, in my opinion, are definitely Tom Swift-esque and have a definite SF edge to them. While not classified as rare, you may have some trouble finding them (especially #2).
Hardy Boys Ghost Stories One volume, but many formats. Only issued in paperback. GS has several short stories in which the Hardys have to deal with a phantom ship, a walking scarecrow, etc. I would recommend reading this one; it's pretty good! The Ghost Stories were also released in Sri Lanka under Vasan Parkasakayo publishers and in Russia. .
Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew Be-A-Detective Books Six volumes, two formats. Only issued in paperback. Each volume is "interactive," much like the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books popular in the '80s. Two more volumes, Jungle of Evil and Ticket to Intrigue, were written but not published. These volumes were also released in the UK under Armada, and in Spain in both Catalan and Castellana versions. Cover art by Hector Garrido.
Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew Other Books Super-Sleuths Volumes 1 and 2 contain various short stories with the HB & ND. Campfire Stories, released to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Camp Fire, is basically the same as Super Sleuths. S-S Vol. 2 was also released with a variant back-side, see scan below. Both S-S volumes were released under both Wanderer & Minstrel printings, and a hardcover Wanderer print run.
7 Stories of Survival Released in both an oversized paperback and hardcover edition, this modern Detective Handbook was published under the Wanderer imprint and includes short stories in which Frank and Joe illustrate various techniques to stay alive. "Co-authored" by Sheila Link. The paperback version is fairly hard to find; the dust jacket edition is quite impossible to find, especially in good shape. Cover art by David Schleinkofer. ![]() |
